Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

How does it work?

Did you know that stress is actually good for us? It primes our minds and bodies to tackle a sudden problem head-on. But we are only designed to experience stress in small doses. When it shows signs of never relenting then we face a problem.

With Solution Focused Hypnotherapy we use the latest and most practical neuroscience research to help people ease their stress levels.  And by doing so enable them to make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time.  Unlike other therapies, we do not dwell in the past.

Using a blend of positive talk-therapy (Solution Focused Therapy), CBT and NLP techniques we see what improvements have been made since the last session, and what changes you want to make for the future and how you can implement these. At the end of the session, I use hypnotherapy to embed all of these positive changes into your subconscious, leaving you feeling relaxed and calm and enabling you to gain control of your life.

We all go into trance regularly and naturally, when engrossed in a book, driving a familiar route or daydreaming, in fact, we are in a trance most of the day.  So, therefore, hypnotherapy is something that everyone can do, it’s a feeling of total relaxation.

I talk to you in detail about how our minds work. Often this understanding can bring about light bulb moment of realisation that it’s not just you feeling like this, or going crazy, it’s not just in your mind – it’s in everyone’s mind.

I am also trained as a Master Practitioner of  EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) sometimes known as tapping. I use these techniques when I think they would be useful, to help relieve stress and anxiety and will show you how you can do this for yourself.

At the end of each initial consultation, I give every client an audio file to listen to every night when they go to bed. One of the aims of the audio is to get sleeping patterns back on track. This is the first thing I tackle with any client because when we are sleeping better we can think more clearly and function better.

Find a time to suit your schedule. On average clients see me for between 8-12 sessions, but this can vary. Phobias and smoking take 3 sessions.


Session Format

Each session lasts for 1 hour, focusing on your positive changes, refocusing your goals and the steps you can take to achieve these.
