If you have a phobia you probably realise that your fear is unreasonable and slightly irrational. Yet, you still cannot control your feelings of anxiety and may well go to extraordinary lengths to avoid certain situations. Phobias are very common and highly treatable.
A phobia develops when a person has an exaggerated or unrealistic sense of danger about a situation or object. They are often linked to a certain event in your past that you may not even remember clearly. Sometimes these can also be a learned behaviour from someone close to you.
We all have a natural impulse to be fearful of certain situations, but once our rational mind kicks in we can assess the situation and decide on the right course of action. When someone has a fear or phobia, all rational thoughts are blocked.
HOW Can solution focused hypnotherapy help with fear?
Through hypnosis and NLP techniques you can control your anxiety and fear no matter how out of control it may have felt in the past. We use a very simple technique over three sessions called ‘Rewind’, which allows the mind to run through past events in a safe and secure environment, feeling disassociated from that event. We replace the past emotional experience with a ‘Reframe’ of how we would like to behave in that situation in the future.

Find a time to suit your schedule. On average clients see me for between 8-12 sessions, but this can vary. Phobias and smoking take 3 sessions.
Session Format
Each session lasts for 1 hour, focusing on your positive changes, refocusing your goals and the steps you can take to achieve these.
