All relationships go through ups and downs, it’s perfectly natural and normal. However, when problems become more serious or the ability to talk and understand the other person is too difficult then it may be time to seek help.

There is no single cause for relationship problems, but often issues can stem from life changes and stress. Moving in together, having a baby, blended families learning to adapt to each other, looking after aged parents or moving into retirement can all create a different kind of pressure on a relationship. Personal, work or financial stress can also place a strain on the relationship.

You cannot change someone else or what has happened in the past, but you can change how you feel or how you cope with that situation or person. We can look back on what was working well in a relationship to get it back on track and re-establish behaviours and feelings. It can help you see a new perspective, give confidence or courage in either moving forward in a relationship or ending one that is no longer working.

Find a time to suit your schedule. On average clients see me for between 8-12 sessions, but this can vary. Phobias and smoking take 3 sessions.

 

Session Format

Each session lasts for 1 hour, focusing on your positive changes, refocusing your goals and the steps you can take to achieve these.
